Oscars Night - Top 5 Best and Worst Dressed Celebrities According to me

Okay, so Oscars were on last night and I am not a fan of the event, EXCEPT for the glamor it shows-off which I think is something to look forward to. There is always, some “OH MY GOD! I want that dress!” and some “What the hell is she wearing?! Good Lord!”

So, here I am, with my top 5 best and worst dressed celebrities and I know some of you might like what I hated and some of you might end up hating what I think was the limelight of the whole evening.
Firstly, lets have a look at the top 5 best dressed ladies of the evening.

TOP 5 BEST DRESSED CELEBS AT THE OSCARS ACCORDING TO ME

The first one is Anne Hathaway, and boy she looked breathtaking in this lovely Valentino gown. Although I didn’t like her outfit she wore while walking down the red carpet, she managed to pull her style sense back at the after party at Vanity Fair.

Mila Kunis, God she looked amazing in that lovely piece of dress. This is an Elie Saab creation (which I’d never heard of until last night) and Mila carried it out perfectly. Way to go Mila.

In comes the Oscar Winner for Best Actress, Natalie Portman, in an awe-inspiring and beautiful Rodarte creation accompanied by Jimmy Choo heels, a Roger Vivier clutch, and Tiffany & Co. jewelry. She undoubtedly looked stunning and I just got to know that she is expecting her first baby. Congrats Natalie.

Mandy Oh Mandy! You looked lovely in that ravishing Monique Lhuillier dress. Apparently, I didn’t really like Mandy Moore's hairstyle but the dress did its magic and hence the hairdo can be ignored.

Last but not the least in my top 5 is none other than Halle Berry, and she looked absolutely gorgeous in her Marchesa gown and 10-carat diamond Neil Lane earrings. She carried on both, the dress and the earrings amazingly.

TOP 5 WORST DRESSED CELEBS AT THE OSCARS ACCORDING TO ME

Now lets come down to those who failed to make a mark in the Oscars with their sense of style and dressing.

First is none other than Helena Bonham, and what the hell was she wearing? A magpie style with a custom gown created by costume designer Colleen Atwood. I have to meet this costume designer and someone has to knock some sense into him. And what is that on her leg? GB's Flag? You've got to be kidding me.

She may have deservedly won the Best Supporting Actress for her role in "The Fighter," but Melissa Leo did not win anyone over in this complicated Marc Bouwer laser-cut-lace frock. I mean this is NOT what you wear for an occasion like The Oscars.

And are you kidding me? Whats wrong with you Penelope? She wore L'Wren Scott creation which I didn’t think was for the Oscars. I didn’t like the dress at all.

And I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw her walk down the red carpet in that ugly dress. Yes, that’s Nicole Kidman in a Christian Dior strapless dress accompanied by a glamorous Fred Leighton choker. Although I loved the choker but the dress was NOT at all my favourite.

Lastly, when I saw this lady walk down with this piece of dress, I told myself, is it really the Oscar’s that I am watching? Gayle King, without any doubt won the Worst Dresssed Oscar for the evening. I wouldn’t dare wear this color in any formal occasion.

So here it is ladies, my post on the Oscar’s Best and Worst dressed Celebrities which made me to come to the conclusion that no matter how big your name is in the Designer World, sometimes you end up creating dresses that makes girls like me go bonkers and takes us in a state of shock telling ourselves, “No! This cant be a Versace creation, it cant be a Dior dress, it possibly cannot be an Armani gown!”

But in the end, we have to face the truth and we cannot do anything about it.

Hope you like my post. =D

Till then stay pretty and keep your hands off those ugly dresses. =D

Rimmel Flash Eyeliner - Review

Recently I did a mini haul post and most of you gorgeous ladies loved the Rimmel Flash Eyeliner which was mentioned in it. So here is a quick review of it and I really hope you'd find this review useful.

As I mentioned earlier in my haul post, I really wanted a pen tipped liquid liner like the one MAC has and when I found out that Rimmel has one to their account, I instantly got that after swatching it and it was a treat for me.

Here is what Rimmel has to say about its Flash Eyeliner

·        Versatile felt tipped pen liquid liner
·        Easier to apply than traditional liquid liners
·        Continuous and controlled flow
·        Fine-tip for precise lines
·        Long-wearing
·        Smudge and transfer resistant

By far, it fulfils all the qualities mentioned by Rimmel which is a great thing. it comes in only black and I really like this product.

The only thing that I didn’t like about my liner is that its tip doesn’t actually work, i.e. its tip, which is the finest part of the liner, doesn’t give out colour as it should, or should I say, as it did when I swatched the TRY ME at the Rimmel booth. I think my liner has some tip problem but overall its lovely to work with.

It definitely is easier to apply, smudge free and will definitely give yo a precise fine line as per your requirement. The colour payoff is really nice and if you're wondering where i got mine from, will I got it from a local drugstore for £4.25 (prices do vary as per store) and I think this is a good alternative for MAC’s Prenultimate Eye Liner which is £14.

Hope you found this review interesting. Don’t forget to follow me through both GFF and Twitter [ScarahBurhan], till then, have a lovely day and stay pretty.

January Haul - A Mini One

Hey there lovely ladies,
Hope you all are in the perfect on health and I really hope you had an amazing time expressing your love for your loved ones on the Love day. I think, if you love someone, you should express that love every other day rather than making it one day in a year to do that. Don’t you agree?
Anyway, today my post is about a mini haul, stuff that I got from a local drugstore and an online website;  have been using them since. I have used almost everything  except for one, which I am going to review for you shortly. So lets get started

=D

Here are the things that I got myself

-          Olay Gentle Cleanser – Cleansing Wipe [ £1 ]
-          Impulse Deodorants in Very Pink and Goddess [ £1 each = £2 ]
-          Prestige iQuad (Eyeshadow Quad) in Rewind [ £1 ]
-          Prestige  Beauty Bar ( Eyeshadow Palette) in Second Glance [ £1 ]
-          Rimmel Flash Eyeliner in Black [ £ 4.25 ]
-          Superdrug Eyeshadow Blending Brush [ £ 1.99 ]
-          Superdrug Eyeshadow Brush [ £ 2.28 ]

Okay so lets talk about Olay Gentle Cleansing wipes. Its like the every other facial wipes that I have used. Removes makeup from your skin and cleanses it too. I really like it

I used Impluse couple of years back and I don’t know why I stopped using it. These deodorants ar just amazing, the fragrance is just geat and I am totally in love with them. The best part about these deodorants is that they don’t have a lip/cap. Instead they have this twister, which works well you twist the top of it and then nozzle appears and you spray on your desired area. Isnt it great?

I have heard quite a few good things about Prestige Cosmetics so I wanted to try them on. Recently I found this online website that had a sale going on selected items and all of them were for 99p which is almost like £ 1. As usual I got excited and started looking when I found Prestige Eyeshadow Quads there and quickly purchased them. The first one that I got myself was their iQuad which rhymes and looks likean iPod, in Rewind, containing four natural nude  shades that one would require for a natural look. And the second one, Beauty Bar in Second Glance also have four different shades as shown in the picture. I have used my Prestige iQuad in Rewind and I must say, I really liked it. Would do a separate review on it soon. I haven’t quite used Second Glance, so when I will, I would let you guys know how I found it.

I always wanted a pen-style liquid eye liner and while browsing through some of the cosmetic booths in the drugstore, my eyes met with that of Rimmel’s Flash Eyeliner. Before purchasing I tried it on with their Try Me Out and fell in love with it instantly, later ended up purchasing that too. (khekhekhe). I have been using it now and then and honestly, my love for it has not been growing. Why? For that you’ll have to wait when I do a review on it soon. =D

the top one (2nd picture) is the eyeshadow brush
the last one (3rd picture) is the eyeshadow blending brush

The last two things that I got myself were some eyeshadow brushes of Superdrug itself. They are the normal kind, with synthetic fibres and am in love with the blending brush as it does its job amazingly. I often use it as an eyeshadow brush as well. Clever me!

So girls, this was my mini haul post. Hope you liked it and comment below if you want to ask anything. I will be doing my Favourites post soon followed by a post on my Makeup Collection and some reviews.
Till then, stay pretty and love yourself.

Sea Of Colours - 120 Pro Eyeshadow Palette - Review

Howdy pretty ladies,

Happy Valentines Day in advance and I hope you have an amazing time. But before I start off with my babbling, I just want to apologize for the delay of my review on 120 Pro Palette which I promised a month ago I guess? (cant exactly remember) but lately I am kind of low on energy these days so I hope you guys will excuse me for this.

So, Lets start off with this lovely review that I have instated for you guys. I did told you that I got this palette from www.ebay.co.uk for only £9 (approx Rs.1200) which is an amazing price for a palette like this which contains 120 eye shadows. As soon as I found out that the person who was selling it had only one left with him and he lived in England (which means I would get this chic in no time), I grasped the opportunity and got myself this amazing palette.

This palette does not have a name attached to it, as in, it does not state as to what brand or company made it is. It came in a plain black cardboard box which had its ingredients listed at the back and it was a big relief to find out that it didn’t contain any animal based ingredient. When I opened it, the palette; which is in black with nothing written on it was bubble wrapped which I really like. When dispatching such delicate feature, you need to ensure that it reaches its destination in one piece.

When I opened it, I was taken by amusement just by looking at the colours in it. From refreshing blues to inspiring greens, from delicate purples to extravagant pinks, from sunny yellows to nude browns, this palette has all the colours one would want for her eyeshadow collection. The palette comes in detachable trays of two, which means that both of the trays containing eyeshadows can be taken out of the palette and can be placed on the palette as well.

Now lets talk about the things I just love about this palette.
  • -          The colours are extremely pigmented and has an amazing quality.
  • -          The palette has matte, shimmery and a column of marble effect shades, but matte shades are more to be found.
  • -          I love the way they are aligned with respect to the colour family they belong to.
  • -          They are easily to blend, which is again a very good aspect of it.

However, there were certain things that I didn’t like about this palette which are ignorable. Firstly, the black coloured eyeshadow has been repeated, which I think is because of the fact that while creating intense dramatic looks, black seems to get used up pretty much so they thought of giving us an extra black spot. Secondly, I really didn’t like the idea of the eyeshadow trays being detachable as I think they have more chances of getting damaged by falling off the palette. But overall, this palette is worth it. And I simply LOVE it. Not only it has amazing colours to it, but it sure has a very nice quality label attached to it.

Hope you guys found my review helpful and interesting. Stay tuned for more reviews and looks from this palette and I would love to hear and see about your palettes too.

Post a picture of your eyeshadow palette/palettes in response to this post of mine on my facebook fan page http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rabeeyah-Sarahs-BLOG/171957252836360
